SANDRA K ALLOWAY

October 15, 1956 ~ December 20, 2016 (age 60) 60 Years Old

Sandra Lloyd Alloway of Bethel, passed away un-expectantly, on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016 in her home in Bethel.

She was born in Seaford, on October 15, 1956. Daughter of late Richard M and Gertrude (Messick) Lloyd.

Mrs. Alloway was a 1974 graduate of Seaford High School. She joined the Navy after graduating high school and moved to California. After her discharge, she moved to New York and then to Florida. She moved back to Seaford in 1991, and worked as a Waitress at Wood’s Restaurant in Laurel and Bon-Appetite in Seaford. She met her husband, Brian Alloway, while working at Wood’s Restaurant in the summer of 1993 and they started dating that fall. Sandra and Brian were married at the Bethel United Methodist Church on June 8, 1996.

Mrs. Alloway started Instant Lawn during the fall of 1996 with her business partner, late Sammuel Alloway II. Instant Lawn grew and prospered due to Sande’s commitment to customer service and passion for unique landscape designs. She loved working outside and took great pride in her creative landscape designs. Instant Lawn was sold in the fall of 2006 due to Sande’s health issues.

Sande loved to dress to the 9’s. It was not unusual for Sande to wear heals on a job site. She also loved music and art and was a professional singer while living in Florida. But, nothing surpassed the love of her many nieces and nephews, except for the love of her Husband. While Sande did not have children of her own, she considered her nieces and nephews as her “children”. “Aunt Sande” always tried to lend an ear or a helping hand. She believed everyone deserved a second chance.

Sande is survived by her Husband Brian Alloway, Brother Ricky and Sister-in-law Crystal Lloyd, Mother and Father-in-law Jim and Beth Gooch, Father and Mother-in-law Michael and Sherry Alloway, “Son and daughter” Ryan and Jen Lloyd, “Son and Daughter” Daniel and Aimee Lloyd, “Daughter” Kirsten Marine, and Many other nephews and nieces.

Sande is preceded in death by Parents, Richard M and Gertrude (Messick) Lloyd, Brother Dicky and Sister-in-law Helma Wood, Sister Joan and brother-in-law Jack Messick.

A memorial service was held Saturday, January 7th at the Cranston Funeral Home 200 N. Shipley St, Seaford. Pastor Scott Conn of Laurel Wesleyan Church officiated.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Beebe Healthcare Medical Foundation, https://www.beebemedicalfoundation.org Beebe Medical Foundation 902 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958 phone: (302) 644-2900; fax: (302) 644-2950, due to the excellent care Sande received at the Tunnell Cancer Center.
