Ruth L. Robinson, age 87, of Seaford, De passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017.

          Ruth was born in Philadelphia, PA on Feb. 2, 1930, the daughter of the late Luther and Irma Messick.

          She worked at the candy counter at Woolworth in Seaford, DE.  She had also been a seamstress at Walker’s Shirt Factory in Blades.

          Mrs. Robinson enjoyed playing pinochle, bingo and aggravation as well as doing word finds and sewing.  An accomplished seamstress, she made clothes for herself and her daughter, Linda, including Linda’s prom and wedding dresses.  She enjoyed making pillows and bedspreads for others.

          Throughout her life she helped many people including a family from the Norfolk Nava Base, who had a car accident.

          Mrs. Robinson will be remembered as a beloved wife and caregiver to her husband of 66 years, Alton Robinson who preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Harry Messick and sister Eileen Messick.

          She is survived by a daughter, Linda Steinbiss, a son, Michael Robinson (Lisa), 7 grandchildren, Luther Steinbiss and his fiancée, Linda Ward, Kathi Christiano, Michael Christopher Robinson, Trevor Robinson and his fiancée Madison, Chelsea Ballou (Nate), Isibella Robinson, and Morgan Robinson, 4 great-granddaughters, Alexa and Anna Christiano, Olivia and Kinsley Ballou.  She was loving known as Mom Mom.  She will also be missed by her sister, Dorothy Farner (Carl), her aunt, Emma Collins (Leon) as well as many nieces and nephews, friends a plenty, especially, Helen Cameron and Fred Burke who were with Ruth and her daughter, Linda and grandson, Luther and fiancée Linda Ward at Ruth’s passing.

          Memorial Services will be on Saturday, December 2ns at noon at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St, Seaford, where friends may call from 11 to 12. Burial will be in Bridgeville Cemetery.
