Robert Baker Krauss Jr., 90, of Seaford, Delaware passed away peacefully December 30th, 2016 surrounded by his family.

Robert met the love of his life, Ethelene, while they were in high school. Robert lived his entire life in Claymont, DE and spent his retirement years with his loving wife of 69 years, Ethelene in Seaford, DE. They were married when Robert returned from serving his country in World War II.

Robert was born in Coatsville, PA, son of the late Robert and Margaret Krauss. Robert was very proud of serving in the Armed Guard of the US Navy during WWII. Upon his discharge, he worked at Phoenix Steel as a mason foreman for 30 years. After leaving Phoenix Steel, he worked at Children’s Home in Claymont for 10 years.

Robert enjoyed family gatherings of any kind, whether it be fishing trips in Canada with family and friends, the annual family Crab Feast that his family would travel far and wide to attend, but what he enjoyed most in life was fishing with his grandchildren.

Robert was a life member of:Oriental Lodge No 27 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Consistory, Ruth Chapter No 19, OES, VFW – Hall Burke Post # 54447

Survived by his wife, son Robert III and wife Jill, daughter Linda Miller and husband Timothy Miller, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren, many special nephews and nieces and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5th 2017 at 1pm with services at 2pm at Concord United Methodist Church, 25332 Church Road, Seaford, DE. A luncheon will follow in the church social hall.
