Patricia G. Charlton, 86, of Summerville, SC, widow of Ray L. Charlton, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Summerville Medical Center.

A memorial service was held in Summerville on September 10, 2016. A committal service will be held graveside at Odd Fellows’ Cemetery, Seaford, DE, at 11:00 AM on October 15, 2016.

Patricia, daughter of the late Theodore Allen Gleason and Mabel (Roberts) Deakyne, was born on February 19, 1930 in Seaford, DE. She was a graduate of Seaford High School and graduated from Salisbury State Teachers College in Salisbury, MD. She was an avid reader. Her passion was helping children develop reading skills. She was instrumental in a Developmental Reading Program at Princess Anne Junior High in Virginia Beach, VA.

She is survived by three children: Eric A. Kraemer (Donna) of Great Falls, VA; John F. Kraemer (Regina) of Chesapeake, VA; and Judith A. Briggs (Michael) of Summerville, SC; nine grandchildren: Josh, Nathan, Katie, Maggie, David, Brian, Annie, Madeline and Tyler; six great-grandchildren; brother in law Maurice MacArthur; nephew Ron MacArthur; and niece Mary Jane MacArthur. She was predeceased by her sister, Shirley MacArthur.
