Norman M. Burke, 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 2, 2016.

          Born May 1, 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Norman A. and Hilda M. Burke.  He served his country in the US Navy and proudly displayed the US Flag at his home year-round.

          Norman was a Baltimore City policeman before settling in a career in the automotive business as a salesman/sales manager for various Chevrolet dealerships in Maryland and Colorado.  After a short retirement, he returned to the workforce and enjoyed driving a medical transportation van, considering it a personal ministry.

          Norman was a fun-loving, generous man who loved his family and friends.  He was a romantic and loving husband and is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Laura Burke of Seaford, DE.  Also surviving him are his sisters-in-law, Marsha Blalock, also of Seaford and Lu Kunzelman and her husband Ed of Grand Junction, CO; his children: Kent M. Burke and his wife Linda of Halethorpe, MD; Gail Wright and her husband, Bart of Millsboro, DE; his grandchildren: Megan Schoolfield and her husband, Jeff of Martinsburg, VW; Norman C. Burke of Baltimore, MD; and Shaina Burke of Halethorpe, MD; Erin Picco and her husband, Dave of Ellicott City, MD; Lindsey Klein and her husband Tye of Halethorpe, MD; Jordan Guest and her husband, Jason of Glen Burnie, MD; his great-grandchildren: Lily Schoolfield, Hudson Burke Guest, Noah Schoolfield and Charlotte Klein; as well as other family and many friends.

          He was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Seaford, DE, where he served as deacon and usher and supported many church activities.  He was an avid boater and fisherman before turning to golf.  He especially enjoyed fellowship with his golfing partners.

          A Memorial Services will be held on August 12, 2016 at 2 PM at Grace Baptist Church, 805 Atlanta Rd, Seaford, DE.  Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the Service.  Pastor Larry Davis will officiate.

          In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to honor Norman may donate their time and make random acts of kindness to their loved ones and the needy in Jesus’ name.
