Matthew L. Esham (45) of Bridgeville passed away in Christiana Hospital on April 12 after an extended illness.

Matt graduated from Woodbridge High school in 1988.  After high school, he studied drafting and design at LeMillet Art Institute in Baltimore.  He is probably most known for his musical talent as he performed in many venues.  He won first place in the Colgate Country Music Showdown and performed in Nashville, TN.  Locally, he sang for many community organizations and events.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jenn Esham, his children Marissa, Jordan and Matthey, Jr, and his mother Kitty Ewing, all of Bridgeville; his brothers Vaughn of Georgetown, and Jeff of Cape Coral, FL.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Union United Methodist Church in Bridgeville.  Interment will be immediately following in Bridgeville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to UUMC music programs.
