Joyce Lavinia Ockels, age 61, of Seaford, DE passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016.

          She graduated from Seaford High School and Sussex Votech in 1972 as an LPN.  She worked at Camp Pecometh in Centerville, MD, Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, and then DuPont in Seaford until retirement in 1991. 

          Joyce enjoyed spending time with her companion George and her family.  She also enjoyed baking, reading, watching TV, spending time outside and taking day trips.  She appreciated Phyllis radish picking her up for church. 

          She was preceded in death by her parents, William H. Sr. and Jean E. Ockels a brother, William H. Ockels Jr and a niece Julie Ockels.

          Joyce is survived by her companion for 35 years, George Lambden, 2 brothers Donald L. Ockels, James S. Ockels, 2 sisters, Deborah A. Massey, Grace M. Stakiel, her nieces and nephews, Faye Allen, Matt Ockels, Brian Massey, Scott Massey, Marie Massey, Lori Stakiel, Kate Stakiel and Ben Mowbray.

          Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, September 27th at 1 PM at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St, Seaford, where friends may call from 12 to 1.  Burial will be in Blades Cemetery.

          In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations may be made to Christ Evangelistic Church, 9802 Camp Rd, Laurel, DE 19956.
