James Andrew Davenport, of Seaford, DE passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a short, but severe illness.

          Jim was born on May 12, 1954 at Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, DE, one of 5 children of the late Robert O. and Dorothy Davenport.

          Jim grew up in Delaware City and after graduation from high school, moved to Seaford and purchased the Tire King of Seaford franchise in 1977 and had served the Seaford area for 38 years.

          As a young man, Jim enjoyed endure motorcycle racing, playing pool and drag racing at the U S 13 Dragway in Delmar since 1991.

          Jim is survived by his loving brothers and business partners, Robert and Jeffrey both of Seaford, a brother William and his wife Vicki of Clayton and Sister, Donna Lee Davenport Glisson of Felton, nieces Kerri and Lori both of Clayton, nephews, Billy and Lewis both of Clayton, nephew and business partner Andy of Seaford and nephews Chucky and Kyle both of Felton.

          His humor and wit will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. His life-long pain has ended.

          A viewing will be held on Friday, Feb. 5th from 6 to 8 PM at Bethel Worship Center, 26648 Sussex Hwy, Seaford, DE.  A private burial will take place on Saturday, Feb. 6th in Maple Hill Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre, PA.

          Arrangements are in the care of the Cranston Funeral Home, Seaford, DE.
