Edward J. Markowski, age 87, of Seaford, DE passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016.

          Ed was born on February 16, 1929 in Throop, PA, the son of the late Edward A. and Mary Kutis Markowski.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Malinowski Markowski in 2008.  They had been married since 1952, and his sister, Dolores Uscowskas.

          He retired from the Post Office after 33 years of service in 1986.  He was a lifelong tailor and his work is known throughout the community.  Ed was a volunteer fireman.  He served in Korea from 1950 to 1952 with the Army 25th Infantry Recon.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, past Grand Knight, 4th degree Knight and a 62 year member.  Ed was also a Member of the American Legion in Seaford an avid Orioles fan. He especially loved his grandchildren.

          Ed is survived by his son Greg Markowski (Melanie), his daughter, Maria Webster (James), grandchildren Nicole Webster, James Webster and Miranda Markowski and his beloved godchild, Faith Augustus-Drescher.He is also survived by his adopted daughter, Ella Miller and many nieces and nephews.

          Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, May 7th at 11 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 531 Stein Hwy, Seaford.  Friends may call at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St, Seaford on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30.  Burial will be on Monday, May 9th at 11 AM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro,

DE.
