Charles “Chuck” Clifton Prophet Jr, age 61, died on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones.

          He was the son of Rosemary Prophet and the late Charles Clifton Prophet Sr. He was born on August 6, 1955 in Annapolis, MD.  Chuck was one of 10 children and grew up in Harmans, MD.  He attended various catholic grade schools as well as Arundel Middle School.  He graduated From Arundel High School in 1972.

          Chuck worked as a shipping supervisor before starting his own trucking and shipping business in 1978.  He switched careers in 1999 to become a Network Administrator starting with Alpha Engineering in Annapolis, MD.  He went on to work for the Columbia Bank of Columbia, MD and finally the Provident State Bank of Preston, MD.

          Chuck was married in October of 1981 to Laura Ann Taylor.  Together the raised three wonderful children.

          He loved music and played both the guitar and the piano.  He enjoyed golfing with his childhood friends from Harmans, MD.  He enjoyed the company of his friends, family, brothers and sisters who all came together to comfort him during his illness from cancer.  Hid love of ice hockey and the successful season for the Washington Capitals were a comfort to Chuck, filling his imagination with Stanley Cup possibilities.

          Chuck was a beautiful, kind soul.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Rick Prophet.  His beautiful life will be forever cherished through the lives of his children, Robert, Joshua and Jessica Prophet and his wife Laura.  Chuck’s devoted family members of whom he is also survived are his mother, Rosemary Prophet, sisters, Peggy Grimes, Cindy Stanley, Susan Prophet and Jennifer Adams, his brothers, John Walt, Tommy and Jeff Prophet, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

          Memorial Services will be on Saturday, March 11th at 11 AM at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St, Seaford, DE.
